Tim Young
(Author/Publisher)

Raised in the ski hamlet of North Conway, New Hampshire, Tim Young's musical talent and love for dogs was evident as a small child. After a lengthy career in both the hospitality business and the music business, a fateful dream in 2000 brought forth "Murphy's Safety Songs." "I awoke with the concept of 'Murphy' in my head," recalls Young. "The idea, the songs, the marketing, everything seemed to pour out of me faster than I could write it down. It was far too powerful an experience to ignore - so I didn't," claims Young. "The title character (and narrator of the story) is inspired by a real-life 'Murphy,' explains Young. "A little guy who taught patience and faith, just by being himself," Young shared. "Boy, I loved that dog," says Young. Young published "Murphy's Safety Songs" in 2004 "This is what I was meant to do," declares Young.

The experience was akin to the parable of "the little engine that could" for Young. "If I can create a series of children's books that feature dogs, I'll be a happy guy" thought Young. Then along came "Champion Sleeper!"

Young's former flame rescued a Black Pug/Boston Terrier mix named "Roscoe" After noticing a distinct pattern of Roscoe's love of "sleeping in", Young could not help but note that Roscoe was a "Champion Sleeper" One thing led to the next and the concept of "Champion Sleeper" was born. The brilliance of Tom Price (Illustrator) and the talent of Jill Ronsley (Editor) was added to the project and there you have it.

On deck, for release in early 2009, yet another silly effort full of warmth and laughter, focusing on man's best friend.
